Be a moving train

THURSDAY MOTIVATION: The Power of Energy – How Others Impact Your Progress.

“No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.” — Stanisław Jerzy Lec

Be a moving train

Be a moving train. Don’t let people’s negativity or deep-rooted insecurities deter you from your goals and progress.

Know where your energy and feelings end and someone else’s begin. Be very keenly aware of this. Don’t let anyone taint your positive energy and light.

Unfortunately, sometimes we find ourselves captured in the realm of someone’s insecurity. Just by being yourself, you might be evoking blatant insecurities in someone that can’t help but spill over into your interactions with that person. This, in turn, can affect you negatively.

One classic example of this includes a person’s reaction when you accomplish something great and important. How do they respond to you? Can you sense a genuine happiness from their reaction? Or is your accomplishment further reinforcing their lack of accomplishments or lack of goals/trying? Your achievements can cause others’ toxic feelings of resentment, envy, inadequacy to spill over – which can then cloud your energy.

So, pay attention to people’s words and actions. Also pay attention to how you are being affected by someone and to what extent you’re allowing yourself to feel others’ insecurities.

Remaining highly self-aware is one way to avoid being stuck in someone else’s projection of negativity. It is your responsibility to maintain emotional boundaries in order to avoid having your energy zapped and depleted. It is your responsibility to be that moving train.

And why?

Because a moving train doesn’t stop. It propels despite the uncertainty and the challenges. It doesn’t let anyone veer it off of its tracks.

Become that.

Be a moving train
